Haircut

We finally decided to get Daniel a haircut, despite what his Grandma wanted (she didn't cut Marshall's hair until he was 18 months and it was falling in ringlets). Yesterday was the day, it was very traumatic. Daniel screamed the entire shop down, he started when the hairdresser sprayed the water and didn't stop until it was over. You'll agree it does look better.

Christmas Fun

We spent a few days at the coast prior to Christmas. Daniel had lots of fun with his cousins Harrison and Ben. It's going to be good fun next year when Daniel is walking and they can run around together. All the boys received some lovely presents from Santa as well as Nana and Poppy.

Party Season

Hamish really liked to tall drum, Daniel and Joseph were more inclined to eat their instruments.

After coming off a week of celebrating Daniel's birthday, there were still more birthdays to celebrate! Our friend William had his 3rd birthday, and for a special treat Kelly and Chris (mum and dad) organised some African Drummers to come and entertain the children. It was lots of fun.

Daniel turns One

Here is Danniel enjoying some of his new toys. He really likes his new bath toy.

Last week Daniel turned one! How the year has flown. We had a party for him on Saturday (8th Dec) then a smaller party on his actual birthday on 11th December. Daniel had an good time at his party, it was pretty overwhelming with so many people but he managed to keep it together for the most part. He received some lovely gifts. Grandma came down for the week and had alot of fun with Daniel. He's such a funny boy now, he knows what to do to get a reaction and is trying hard to say many different words, Gobi or gogi being his favourite.
We went and saw Liz the lovely nurse and she measured him, naturally he is still off the chart with his length... 82cm, and he weighs 11.8kg (no wonder my back is sore!). He's crawling everywhere and pulling up on everything. But the most exciting thing that happened for Daniel on his birthday is that HE GOT SOME TEETH! Hooray! but not the teeth you'd expect, his eye teeth, so he's going to look rather strange.

Oh Christmas Tree

Here is Daniel enjoying pulling off the tree decorations. Initially Daniel was scared of the christmas tree but as you see his warmed up to it now.

Santa

I like to call this photo "Stunned Silence".
Daniel wasn't too sure about the whole Santa thing. In Daniel's defence, it was a spare of the moment decision. Marshall had bought things at Harvey Norman and Santa was there, Daniel was there, the planets aligned and this is the result.

A beach break

We went to Cabarita to see Nana and Poppy. Daniel had a wonderful time, he really loves the pool and really enjoyed the wet sand at the beach (as you can see). He also enjoyed being able to really get around and explore Nana and Poppy's house........
I forgot to write up his 11 month stats..... he's 11.6kg and 81cm long!!!!!!

Changing Rooms?

Daniel was not content with his current room layout, so he got stuck in and started dismantling his change table. Lucky Mummy's here to pick it all up :-)

Ben showing us his "cheese" for the camera face........

Daniel excited to see they have lots of gum leaves

Daniel and I just got back from 2 nights up at Coolum. It was a nice break and a good time for Daniel. He loves swimming now (well splashing, not so much swimming) and he realy enjoyed being with Harrison and Ben. Grandpa also came for a night as well. We were lucky enough for the boys to see some kangaroos.

Hanging with the Hendersons

Eating, still a messy business!

Daniel has days where he likes to spit the food that goes into his mouth, as you can see it's a messy job! Daniel thinks it's great fun.

Ten Months

Daniel reached the ten month mark last week. He's doing just fine apart from his red cheeks. He's now sitting at the 97th percentile for his length (79cm) and his weight is just under the 90th percentile at a healthy 11kgs. He's getting to be more and more active everyday, his latest trick is to make growling noises. He's crawling and pulling up on everything as seen in this photo taken at the coast. Marshall is on holidays for a week and today Grandma and Grand-dad arrive from Townsville for a week, Daniel's sure to get lots of love and attention with all these people around!

Another busy weekend

The top photo was taken at Amanda and Nick's. Harrison had a birthday party for his 4th birthday. While the older children played on bikes Daniel was content to stand and yell at passing boats on the canal!
Hmmmm, the second photo is Daniel climbing up the stairs...... he got himself up the 5 steps after he saw that I was upstairs. We have a gate at the top but not at the bottom, looks like i'm going to have to fix that.
The last one speaks for itself! Gobi and his shadow.......

An oldie but a goodie, Grand-dad playing Daniel the fiddle May 2007

gobi chasing his tail

Nice PJ's thanks Nicole

Funny Faces

Daniel is exploring how is face works, and as such is the king of crazy faces. The top photo is a pose he's been doing for a while, he screws up is nose and breathes through it making a strange sound. The bottom one started last week (sorry it's not the best photo), he sucks his cheeks right in, it is so strange because then his bottom eye lids get drawn down! He's also into chewing his tongue and rolling and curling it. I just wonder what he'll come up with next........

Hmmmm, not sure that I like the idea of this!

I had just put Daniel down to sleep and walked by to see him standing in his cot! Obviously he had figured out how to pull himself up. The only trouble is I don't think he knows how to sit down again. Once standing he decided he'd suck on the cot rails, it seems to be the thing to do at the moment, he will do it to the chairs, table legs, my legs any thing he can get to. Makes for a mess!

Swimming

Daniel hit the water for the first time ever, last summer he was a little bit too small so we never made it into the pool. At the coast this week Daniel had a swim with Poppy. At first he was a bit unsure but by the end he was enjoying himself (probably because he had gone totally numb, it was actually freezing!).

A typical day

This sums up Daniel's days at the moment. He loves getting everything out of his toy box then playing with the front door instead! Eating is still a messy event, more so when he rubs the food all over his face. The other activity that Daniel loves more than anything is chasing the dog around the house. Poor Gobi just wants to be left in peace but Daniel continues to annoy him.
