Where's the Water in Wivenhoe?

This morning the four of us (Gobi) included drove out to Wivenhoe Dam. (For our overseas friends that's where Brisbane's water supply comes from).
Currently the dam is sitting below 18% which is a big worry. 'Back in the day' when I used to row, Wivenhoe hosted all the regattas for the Brisbane area. The inlet where the rowing course was, is a dry dirt bed. Unfortunately we were unable to get to the rowing course to have a closer look. You can see from the photos where the water level once was.
This bottom photo is at the boat ramp, obviously it was built to cope with variations in the dam level as it's quite long. The water level would now be another 20metres away from the end of the boat ramp. I took this from the bottom of the ramp looking up to where Marshall and Daniel are sitting (you can see them in the mid left of the picture).
Apart from the doom and gloom of no water, it was a lovely morning. Gobi had alot of fun. The morning sun was very warming as were the Fernvale Bakery Pies!!!!
